CRIME BOSS REGGIE LAFAYETTE Mount Vernon candidate Lisa Copeland has recently went on a rant on her Facebook page.  In a statement on her Facebook page she accuses "outsiders" for making a name for themselves for bringing up issues that she claimed are untruths. Copeland was not specific on what untruths were told neither did she bring up any facts to the subject she was speaking about. CORRUPT FORMER CITY CLERK LISA COPLAND Lisa Copland is the third cast member of the criminal syndicate ticket put together by Westchester Crime Dem Boss Reginald Lafayette.  Lisa Copeland, by her own admission, has been involved in the "Costra Nostra" Style of politics that currently runs the City Of Mount Vernon since she was 14 years old.  Electing Lisa Copeland as a City Councilperson would be a travesty to the taxpayers of Mount Vernon.  The embattled former City Clerk obstructed federal investigators by purposely destroying financial disclosure statements and other documents of Mayor Ernie Davis and other city officials.   LISA COPLAND RUNNING MATE JOHN BOYKIN Copland specifically called out Westchester Democratic Chairman, Mount Vernon Democratic City Committee Chairman and Board of Elections Commissioner Reginald Lafayette, Mount Vernon City Council President Marcus Griffith, and City Clerk George Brown and the fraternal organization of the Masons for not doing anything, but she was never clear on what was not done. CONVICTED CRIMINAL MAYOR ERNIE DAVIS The Facebook statement of Copeland has clearly shown that there is a riff in the Democratic ticket put together by Crime Boss Lafayette. Copeland is on the Democratic Party line with the Mayor on Probation Ernie Davis, but there is no secret in Mt. Vernon political circles that Copeland is constantly seen at events and social gatherings with Sen. Ruth Hassle Thompson. Maybe she is questioning her own party loyalty. Lastly, Copeland goes on to say that she has a lawsuit ready for those who decide to right anything about her.  Unfortunately, Copeland has failed her due diligence in understanding her place as a public official who is running for office.  Lisa Copeland is a very delusional and narcissistic person.  She will stop at noting to get elected.  Lisa has previously ran for Westchester County Clerk (2x), Comptroller, and even was in talks with Crime Boss Lafayette to become a Judge in 2018. To become a judge one must first be a lawyer, and to become a lawyer, one must go to law school.  Lisa Copeland has never attended law school.  The arrogance of this pompous individual is just one more reason why the endorsed candidates of Crime Boss Lafayette must be defeated on September 10, 2015.  These individuals are: ERNEST D. DAVIS LISA COPELAND JOHN BOYKIN The Fact of the Matter is; Supreme Court decisions make it extremely difficult for a public figure – especially anyone running for public office – to win a libel case even if what is said about them is false. What was said in a Special Report in 2004 bears repeating: "Candidates have a legal right to lie to voters just about as much as they want." There is no federal truth-in-advertising law that applies to political ads, and the very few states that have tried such legislation have had little or no success. Regarding private lawsuits, the Supreme Court held in the landmark Times v. Sullivan case in 1964 that a public official can’t collect damages for a defamatory statement – even if it is false – unless he or she can prove "that the statement was made with knowledge of its falsity or with reckless disregard of whether it was true or false." Proving that somebody knew something was false is a very tough thing to do. And a defendant can always claim that he or she believed the false statement to be true, or can show that there was at least a grain of truth to it, and thus claim that there was no "reckless disregard" for the truth. Either Copland is talking off the cuff about a lawsuit being prepared or her legal council is ignorant to the fact of already established case law that has established that she has no legal bearing to file anything.  Copeland’s Facebook rant is more proof that the Mount Vernon Democratic Party, under the leadership of Reginald Lafayette is lacking candidates with intellectual fortitude.  .

Each group, known as a “family”, “clan”, or “cosca“, claims sovereignty over a territory, usually a town or village or a neighborhood (borgata) of a larger city, in which it operates it's rackets. Its members call themselves “men of honor”, although the public often refers to them as “Mafiosi”. The Mafia’s core activities are protection racketeering, the arbitration of disputes between criminals, and the organizing and oversight of illegal agreements and transactions

Westchester Democrats have adopted this theme, creating a political landscape, which they control, with their own code of conduct. Anyone who is a threat to his or her way of life much like the criminal syndicate, the Cosa Nostra, either gets the choice to get down or get put down

The players on the Westchester Democrat syndicate are Reginald Lafayette, the Democratic Don of Don's (Westchester County Democratic Chairman, Mount Vernon Democratic City Committee Chairman and Westchester County Board of Elections Commissioner), George Brown, Mount Vernon City Clerk, Marcus Griffith, President of the Mount Vernon City Council, and John Boykin City Council Candidate, and glorified henchman/bagman, who often carries out the dirty work so his superior's hands stay clean and the Mount Vernon Capo, Mayor Ernie Davis are just a few of the key players who we publicly see, but there are many more behind the scenes (some outside of the City of Mount Vernon), those who are nameless or faceless hit man who do whatever the bosses' need to be done.

The Mafia controlled everything from the street corner drug trade to the highest levels of government.  The Westchester Democratic Criminal Syndicate under Don Reggie Lafayette and the multiple hats he wears, control who runs for office and who makes the ballot.  If a rogue element surfaces that threatens business, they plot to take him down.  Many allegations of voter fraud and election rigging have never been able to stick because of Lafayette’s relationship with Westchester County District Attorney Janet Difiore.

It has been alleged that one such plot was overheard in Mount Vernon City Hall on Tuesday July 14th. The topic of discussion was the threat of the upcoming election and City Council candidate, Andre Wallace. Brown, Griffith, Boykin and Lafayette (who is was unclear if he was there in person or on speaker phone) planned a detailed plot to take out Wallace, who to date has been able to circumvent the current power structure, refusing to kiss the ring of Lafayette and has been gaining major momentum on his own.

A day after Wallace’s star-studded golf outing and fundraiser, these key players gathered in the City Clerk’s office to surgically take down, discredit and remove Wallace from the race. A meeting with a spokesperson of the Dems was set to get Wallace to drop out of the race, because the Mount Vernon Democratic powers that be saw him as a threat despite the fact he was only running for City Council. The henchman even offered Wallace a bride to drop out the race.

Wallace is a wildcard who they can’t control. He can outspend them and is garnering much support from the business leaders who are tired of the way things have been run so far. The dangerous thing is many of these business owners are the ones the Syndicate has been extorting to finance their way of life.

Westchester’s Democrat Syndicate has long built alliances with nontraditional organized groups in the county especially where the City of Mt. Vernon is concerned. Wallace is a danger because those who have been taking advantage of during Davis' rule of Mount Vernon see Wallace as one of their own and they are ready to back him to get in City Hall and represent their interest, something that hasn’t been done in decades. What we are seeing is a systemic structure of corruption of the highest level.

When there is prolonged evidence of organized crime (and that is what we are talking about, what the Westchester Democrats are doing under Lafayette is no less that organized crime) the federal government steps in. On the FBI’s website, it states, “It’s not just the mafia anymore. Today, organized crime comes at us from every corner of the globe.”

We may need the FBI to come in and impose the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) Act which is effective tool in an effort to combat Mafia, ad we see a necessity for an independent federal election monitor to end the corruption being committed in Westchester County electoral process.

Although Lafayette’s dual roles and organized control of the electoral process may be worthy of a RICO Act violation, it is codified as Chapter 96 of Title 18 of the U.S. Code, which deals with federal crimes and criminal procedure. Although it was intended to be used against the Mafia and others engaged in organized crime, the RICO Act has been used to prosecute all sorts of criminal activity. We may need to ask if Lafayette’s control in the Democratic Party of Westchester County qualifies.

While that maybe something the government looks at later if Lafayette remains in control of the party, at the very least we need to be demanding Election Monitoring under Section 8 of the Voting Rights Act. Federal Monitors come in when the Department of Justice learns of election-related problems that may appear to warrant the assignment of federal observers.

There is longtime history of questionable activity under Lafayette’s reign. The Westchester Guardian reported: “There have been Democratic candidates in Westchester who have definitely suffered under that circumstance, Andrea Stewart-Cousins, in the contest for the 35th District State Senate seat in 2004, most notable among them.”

To sum things up, this pattern of behavior has been going on in Westchester for far too long. Now is the time for federal observers to monitor he upcoming Mount Vernon Mayoral race, so we can have a fair election.

A political insider has informed Mount Vernon Exposed that Ruth Hassell Thompson is under investigation after a whistleblower in the New York State legislature tipped off federal authorities about several questionable "earmarks" or pork spending that went to various projects in her Senatorial district.  The source said officials are looking into possible kickbacks and other unusual "quid pro quo" arrangements that would enrich the Senator politically or financially.  The embattled Senator was already under scrutiny after it was revealed Senator Thompson was caught on federal wiretaps after former Senator Shirley Hunt agreed to cooperate with the Feds in exchanged for a reduced sentence.  Thompson was targeted after Hunt revealed to federal authorities she knew of corruption in the Senate involving Senator Thompson.

ROBERT DEBENEDICTIS

One such 'earmark' under scrutiny is 110 N. Third Avenue, the location of which the Senator's daughter Helene is employed.  Helene's employer is Robert DeBenedictis, the buildings property manager of record and also the Senator's home improvement contractor of record.  The Senator came under fire recently when it was reported previously the Senator dodged several city approvals when DeBenedictis installed the Senator's roof without a permit and approval from the City's architectural review board.  Architectural review board approval was needed because the Senator changed from a slate to an asphalt roof, which is currently prohibited under city statute.  Mount Vernon Department of Buildings records indicate that the permit fee still has not been paid nor has a permit been applied for despite public outcry and residents speaking up at recent City Council meetings.  Senator Thompson has said publicly that her contract with DeBenedictis called for DeBenedictis to pay all filing fees and ensure that all permits and approvals for city agencies were obtained. If this was any other taxpayer a Violation/Summons would have been issued to the property owner immediately and the fines would have been issued and paid.

Authorities are also said to be looking into whether the Senator overinflated earmarks to the Third Avenue project that would come back to her in the form of campaign contributions and "in-kind" donations.

Critics have also fired at the Senator alleging that there is no contract in place between DeBenedictis and the Senator and that the installation of the roof was part of a much bigger arrangement in place between DeBenedictis and Senator Thompson.  The hiring of the Senator's daughter Helene by DeBenedictis is also part of the deal and in exchange, the Senator would name DeBenedictis Commissioner of Police if elected as Mayor. 

The source said that officials are already into the "business relationship" between the Senator and DeBenedictis.  Sources have confirmed sightings with DeBenedictis and the Senator walking through Fleetwood seeking out campaign space before finally agreeing to set up shop at 565 Gramatan Avenue, right in the heart of Fleetwood.  Property records list the owner as 557 Gramatan Realty, LLC with offices located at 555 Fifth Avenue in midtown. Records indicate that the property was sold to the current owner for $5,000,000 in 2012.  The source said DeBenedictis helped secure the prime location for the cash strapped Senator who otherwise wouldn't be able to afford the $50 per square foot rent, which is equivalent to $6,000 per month for the size of space being used the Senator's campaign. 

Friends of Ruth Hassell-Thompson has filed a "no activity" off cycle report with the New York State Board of Elections regarding her financial activities pertaining to the Senator's mayoral campaign.  Members of the public will have to wait until July to see the Senator's warchest.  The Committee to Elect Ruth Thompson, another campaign committee controlled by Thompson, reported $59, 380.09 on hand during their last filing with the State Board of Election in January 2015.  Members of the public will also get to see how much the Senator is actually paying for her prime real estate in the heart of Fleetwood.

Mount Vernon has the highest tax rate in New York State, with City taxes going up 33% in the past three years. Comptroller Maureen Walker is the financial watchdog of The City Of Mount Vernon. She has not only been silent in the past few years, while the city has been fleeced, but she also joined in and participated in the looting of our taxpayers. Mount Vernon leads the State in tax foreclosures. High taxes have forced thousands of families onto the street. Walker policies have decimated cash strapped senior homeowners, especially those who live on fixed incomes. Instead of helping delinquent elderly citizens stay in their homes, Maureen Walker foreclosed on Grandmothers. Furthermore, Mount Vernon Exposed was informed that Walker’s personal friends were scooping up these properties for pennies on the dollar. Maureen’s office has no policy to help people who fall victim to the outrageous taxes in Mount Vernon.

Millions of dollars have gone missing in Mount Vernon, and a subpoena was issue to Maureen Walker demanding her to open up the financial books. The subpoena has been ignored. All of the financial improprieties leveled at Ernie Davis in the past 10 years, were under Walker’s watch. None of this thievery was possible without her knowledge.

A source from the Davis administration told Mount Vernon Exposed that Maureen Walker’s husband, Robert Walker secretly runs the Comptroller’s office and makes 100% of the decisions in that office. This includes the powerful Board of Estimate, which she has one third voting power. The informant said it is frightening to see Maureen have to receive approval from her husband to make a vote. Robert Walker is an adjunct Professor at Iona College, and has one of the lowest ratings of professors at the college. Mount Vernon exposed researched Robert Walker’s performance at Iona.  The following is just a few of the negative evaluations given by his students.

1) He's pretty obnoxious in the sense that he doesn't respect the student’s one bit. When you have a professor who doesn't respect you, it's hard to absorb what they are trying to teach.

2) This guy needs to find out why he's teaching this course and the relevance of the material. If you ask a question he acts like it will become clear later on in the chapter just to push it away, and nothing ever comes of it. Tries to pack in 3 semesters worth of work into one class and sometimes keeps you longer than the regulation time.

3) HATED IT! THIS PROFESSOR CARES LESS ABOUT ACTUALLY TEACHING AND MORE ABOUT GETTING AS MANY CHAPTERS IN A SINGLE CLASS AS POSSIBLE. I REGRET TAKING HIS CLASS AND AGREE W/ THE ABOVE COMMENT. YOU WILL LEARN VERY LITTLE IF ANYTHING AT ALL. HE NEVER REVIEWS A SINGLE THING AND GETS ANNOYED IF YOU ASK.

The reason this becomes relevant, is because candidates for Mayor are selling themselves to the public. A Maureen Walker win will have an unknown and potentially dangerous person running Mount Vernon.

Sources have informed Mount Vernon Exposed, that Comptroller Maureen Walker doesn’t pay venders who do not contribute to the Walker's campaign war chest. Many venders who have not contributed to Maureen Walker’s campaign, wait months to receive payment for services they performed for the City of Mount Vernon. This is punishment for not donating to the Walker campaign. The policy of only making timely payments to campaign contributors, is a long time tactic of crooked politicians.

Sources have also informed Mount Vernon Exposed that Robert Walker cut a deal with Terrance Horton, to receive financial compensation for the LED lighting contract through a financial institution. However, reports say that State Officials are not going to approve the LED contract, and will not send the electric power needed for the project. An anonymous State source said they are not happy that Mount Vernon does not pay their bills, and the state does not like how the contract was awarded.  Terrance Horton, a thief, who owes well over $100,000 in property taxes, has drained the City of Mount Vernon for years. 

The Walkers rained hell on the elderly and the unfortunate citizens unable to pay their property taxes. However, they have allowed Terrance Horton to keep his tax delinquent properties. The Walker policies of rewarding some, while hurting others, are outrageous.  Horton, the former DPW Commissioner under the Clinton Administration, used tax dollars as his personal piggy bank. Sources say, The Walkers have decided to cash in, and have teamed up with Terrance Horton.

Maureen Walker’s office was cited by NY State for losing Millions in taxpayer money. State auditors slammed her payroll department. The Walker response was to fire longtime worker Greg Bowman. Maureen Walker should resign, because the buck stops at the top, and she is incapable of running her department.

Residents of Fleetwood continue to battle City Officials, attempting to stop an apartment building to be built off the congested Cross County Parkway, exit 7 at 42 Broad St. Again, The Walkers remained silent, and refuse to release information on the financial impact this and all other development projects will have on the city. Maureen’s recent comments that she knew nothing about the 42 Broad Street project is appalling, and an outright lie. The 42 Broad Street project has been on the table for years. The Walkers have become so interested in themselves; they have turned their back on the people of Mount Vernon.

Mount Vernon is in financial ruins. Mount Vernon is a city that does not pay its bills, because of Comptroller Walker’s policies. This corruption is playing Russian roulette with Mount Vernon’s finances, and will eventually lead to bankruptcy for Mount Vernon. Four years ago, Mount Vernon Exposed endorsed Maureen Walker. Since her defeat to Ernie Davis, Walker has spent 3 ½ years, cutting deals and destroying Mount Vernon. Taxes have gone through the roof, and Mount Vernon now has the worse tax to property value ratio in New York State. Mount Vernon also has the honor of having the highest foreclosure rate in The State. In order to turn Mount Vernon around, we must hold our elected officials accountable. Maureen Walker has been an embarrassment, and victims of her policies are in financial ruins. Mount Vernon Exposed calls on Maureen Walker to resign as Comptroller, and allow someone competent to save this city. Taxes have gone up 33% in the past 3 years, and 122% since she took office. The idea of Walker running for Mayor is a slap in the face of everyone who desperately wants to save Mount Vernon from the disaster she has helped create. Maureen Walker needs to come clean with the people of Mount Vernon and turn over the financial reports that were subpoenaed. A simple request to turn over financial information was not done. The people of Mount Vernon deserve to know where their money is. Are Maureen and Robert Walker hiding crimes? Come clean or resign.

CORRUPT FORMER MAYOR CLINTON YOUNG TO ANNOUNCE HIS CANDIDACY FOR MAYOR

Former corrupt Mayor Clinton Young is announcing his candidacy tomorrow for Mayor of Mount Vernon. Young, in his usual fashion as a lazy opportunist, is making his announcement at Memorial Field. 

The embattled former Mayor is hoping that residents forgot about his corrupt, high taxing administration, that employed thugs that went around shaking down business owners and city residents and instead will turn their focus the eye sore that currently sits in a dilapidated state on Sandford Blvd. However, Mount Vernon voters are not foolish and will reject Young's candidacy just like they did four years ago. 

Mount Vernon Exposed was created because of the rampant corruption in Mayor Young's administration.  Today, Mount Vernon Exposed is the most viewed publication in Mount Vernon with over 60,000 page views per month.  

Clinton Young's protege turned Ernie Davis lapdog, John Boykin is seeking a City Council seat and was just recently endorsed by the Mount Vernon Democratic City Commitee, the same organization that endorsed Mayor Davis after he brought crack cocaine to his nominating interview.
