The Mount Vernon Democratic City Committee (MVDCC) under the leadership of Devereaux Cannick has become the laughingstock of New York State. Mount Vernon Exposed has received information that the Mount Vernon Dems are 10 months behind in their rent of $950.00 and now face eviction. It has also been reported that the phone service to Mount Vernon Democratic City Committee Headquarters has been suspended numerous times in the past few months.

The MVDCC’s inability to raise funds is a direct testament to the rogue leadership currently in place. With their backs against the wall, the Mount Vernon Dems have turned to another crony to help save the day.
The MVDCC are planning a fundraiser for Thursday February 26th, 2010 at Greentree Country Club in New Rochelle. Mount Vernon Exposed received several calls last week from district leaders outraged over this particular fundraiser. District leaders were angered over the invitation that they received in the mail. Kenneth Plummer of Kensworth Consulting has extended his tentacles into the MVDCC coffers.

Kenneth Plummer and his firm Kensworth Consulting have come under fire in recent weeks. Plummer has been retained by Atlantic Development, a Manhattan developer that had their offices raided by the Manhattan District Attorney’s office in April 2009. District Leaders, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, said they had no idea that Plummer, also a district leader was profiting from MVDCC fundraisers. One district leader told Mount Vernon Exposed that MVDCC chairman Devereaux Cannick promised transparency when he took over as chairman. Other district leaders said they were going to boycott the fundraiser on February 26th, 2010 and they encourage others to do so as well.

The Blind Leading the Blind

Mount Vernon Exposed could not come to understand as to why the rogue leaders of the MVDCC would choose to hire Kenneth Plummer and his firm to solicit funds for the MVDCC.  Mount Vernon Exposed has received information from a source usually deemed reliable the Plummer and his firm in in financial trouble.  It has been alleged that is why Mayor Young and the MVDCC leaders is steering business to Plummer.  Plummer listed a website on the invitation for the fundraiser.  A recent visit to the website, www.kensworthconsulting.com found that web address to be inactive.  It is unclear if the site was suspended due to non-payment.

Public Service Awards

The MVDCC’s theme for this year is public service awards. District leaders were angered that they were not included in the process of selecting recipients for this year’s public service awards “This (process) resembles the same flawed and corrupt process used to nominate candidates back in the spring”, said one district leader. Mount Vernon Exposed obtained a copy of the invitation. The recipients for the public service are as follows:
Business Man of the Year- August Nigro- CEO of Core Contracting, LLC, Chairman of Canal Asphalt Inc. and President of the Mount Vernon Police Foundation. Core contracting was also the same company that was recently awarded the contract to pave streets in Mount Vernon.

Co-District Leader of the Year- Vicki Benjamin and Kathy Brewington - Districts leaders that spoke with Mount Vernon Exposed could not figure out how the above mentioned district leaders were selected for this award. An appropriate title of the award for these two district leaders would have been “Beholden Stooge of the Year award” said one district leaders. Besides excelling in gathering signatures for nominating petitions, Mount Vernon Exposed could not find a district leader that was in support of these two district leaders receiving this award.
