As reported by Channel 2 news, many classrooms inside A.B. Davis Middle School, have been without heat for over a week. Students have been forced to sit at their desk, with coats and hats on, trying to stay warm. While investigating the lack of heat issue, Mount Vernon Exposed uncovered a bombshell.

Sources have informed Mt Vernon Exposed that Lenny Sarver has been fervently working behind the scenes, blocking any attempt to bring in a school buildings department head. Sources explained that some trustees are not aware, that Lenny Sarver is secretly protecting the millions of dollars that Architect D’Angelo and Fuller receives in contracts from the Mount Vernon school district. Sarver does not want to jeopardize those contracts by bringing in a department head. Part of the Architect’s contract, is tied to the heating systems inside the district’s schools. D’Angelo and Fuller, has very close ties to Rev. Franklin Richardson, and School Trustee Lenny Sarver.


Mount Vernon Exposed demands that the school district, as well as outside Federal agencies, investigate Mr. Sarver’s ties to a company, which receives such lucrative contracts with the Mount Vernon school district.  Mount Vernon Exposed also wants to know when the independent audit will begin that was voted on and approved by school trustees several months ago?

MOUNT VERNON, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) – Heat troubles at a local school have parents and community leaders demanding answers.
Parts of A.B. Davis Middle School in Mount Vernon have been without heat for days, CBS 2 reported.
Students have been shuffled around the building and told to keep their coats on to stay warm, CBS 2 reported.
“We had to move our classrooms, some classes left and went into the cafeteria, so at least we would be a little bit warmer,” seventh grader Justin Ramos said.
Parents are outraged.
“These are kids. They’re not going to complain because it’s cold or tell their parents because they think it’s normal, but it’s not normal. This is ridiculous,” mother Natalie Gomez said.
The superintendent said the school has never been entirely without heat.
In an effort to upgrade the system, the boiler was replaced and repairs are under way in the 100-year-old building.

History tends to always repeat itself.  If one would look into the history of the Mount Vernon Board of Education administration, you will find that it is infested with corruption.  Hiring frequently circumvents civil service law, there is little to no oversight on how public funds are spent, and elections are rigged year after year.  The system is a mess by design. 

Trustee Elias Gootzeit self-anointed himself as the go to go-through person for the Superintendent search.  His partner in crime Judith Johnson who is joined by their enforcer, Len Sarver, joins him.  These three are protégé’s and supporters of former Superintendent Dr. Sawyer’s failed policies.  These three have adopted Sawyer’s practice of hiring unqualified, scandal plagued individuals to high paying positions. 

Trustee Elias Gootzeit was on the board when former Superintendent of Curriculum Shelly Jallow was hired.  This was right around the time Gootzeit began to strengthen his bond with the black clergy.  Gootzeit began to let resolutions pass that were financially harmful to the taxpayers of Mount Vernon.  Gootzeit, at the helm of oversight when Jallow was hired, missed quite a few things in Jallow’s background that even Ray Charles could see.  We are here to fill in Mr. Gootzeit on what he missed.

A simple search in Google inserting Shelly Jallow’s name would point you to her pervious employment stint in Prince George’s County, Maryland where she was employed prior to joining Mount Vernon Public Schools.  Sources have told Mount Vernon Exposed that Sawyer and Jallow were also alleged to be “close friends” prior to Jallow joining the Mount Vernon School District.

Jallow was hired in Prince George County by Andre Hornsby, the Prince George County school chief who was convicted in 2008 on Federal charges for steering millions of dollars worth of contracts to his long time pal that worked for him while he was the Yonkers school chief, and to his girlfriend, who worked for LeapFrog, a technology company that sells tablets and other educational toys for children. 

If a proper background check were done on Ms. Jallow, a red flag would have been raised when she was questioned about her former employer.  Jallow was a high-ranking official in the scandal plagued Prince George County school system, so it would be hard not to believe that she did not know what was going on.  Jallow then brought her criminal behavior to Mount Vernon and teamed up with Timothy Costello, Dr. Sawyer, Trustee Gootzeit and proposed high abusive tax increases year after year.  Property values sunk to an all time low while Sawyer and his cronies received hefty compensation packages that included a take home car amongst other perks. 

Today, we fast forward to the present day board of education.  The same shenanigans continue to play out day in and day out.  There is no accountability and no oversight.  The fox is watching the henhouse. 

One such act of no oversight was the creation and execution of an employment contract for Timothy Costello, Assistant Superintendent for Business.  The contract given to Timothy Costello was the third biggest act of fraud committed on the taxpayers of Mount Vernon.  The other two acts of fraud committed upon the people of Mount Vernon was the hiring of former Superintendent W.L. Sawyer and the hiring of current Superintendent Judith Johnson. 

For starters the contract executed between former embattled Board President Frances Wynn and Timothy Costello calls for Mount Vernon taxpayers to pay 100% of Costello’s medical coverage for three years after his separation from the Mount Vernon School District.  Thereafter, taxpayers must pay 60% of his medical coverage while other administrators of the district only receive 50% medical reimbursement from Mount Vernon taxpayers.  Timothy contracts also calls for him to receive 100% medical coverage for him his family while he is working full time for the Mount Vernon City School District.  Timothy is the only such person in the Mount Vernon City School District that receives such a perk. 

Deveraux Cannick of Aiello & Cannick, the previous law firm that represented the Mount Vernon School District, prepared the contract.  Cannick, was involved in corruption himself, as he had himself improperly listed as a district employee and was receiving pension credits he was not entitled to.  As a result, Cannick had to pay a $75,000 fine to the New York Attorney General. 

Costello also received quite a hefty compensation package that saw pay raises year after year, higher than the cost of inflation.  In Costello’s first year, in 2007, he received a salary of $172,000 then $177,160 in 2008, $182,445 in 2009, $187,918 in 2010, and  $193,556 in 2011.  Prior to Costello’s stint in Mount Vernon he earned about $90K per year after working for about 15 years in an upstate school district.  What special talent did Costello possess that earned him the right to nearly double his salary? 

Costello’s special contract also included a stipulation that said that he couldn’t leave his position until a new person is hired.  Ironically, board members did not seek a new person for Costello’s position and he therefore was rehired after his initial contract ended.  Costello continues to abuse the public till with his shady, Bernie Madoff style accounting practices. 

School Board members must remain diligent and bring in competent people for any positions that may open up in the future.  Background checks and drug tests must not be waived as Superintendent Judith Johnson did for Rene Davis.  To be continued…

Mount Vernon was hit with a blizzard, and deadly low temperatures, but on Wednesday, Superintendent Judith Johnson ordered schools opened with a 2-hour delay. How was Ms. Johnson’s early ride into work, you may ask? A piece of cake, because Judith Johnson did not come to work until about an hour before school closed.  

While a dangerous Polar Vortex and blizzard griped Mt Vernon, plunging temperatures to 5 degrees, with a wind chill factor at -30, our Superintendent sent 5 year olds into dangerous weather. Mount Vernon Exposed was informed, that Judith Johnson had the audacity to avoid work until extremely late (about 1 hour before schools close), and only after receiving complaints.

Lenny Sarver and Judith Johnson unsuccessfully tried to hire Ernie Davis’s daughter, Rene Davis, as a teacher’s assistant. Rene has struggled with a substance abuse problem for a very long time. Sources have informed Mount Vernon Exposed, that Rene Davis has already been teaching in the school district as a substitute for over a year. Rene has been employed by the school district at the urging of Ernie Davis, and implemented by Judith Johnson and Lenny Sarver.

Sources have also informed Mount Vernon Exposed of the following; Rene Davis was never given a drug test as required by law, and has had many instances of losing control of the classroom. Rene constantly sits at her desk and doesn’t attempt to educate the children. Rene was transferred from Davis to Columbus school because of incompetence.


 Judith Johnson should have informed board members that Rene Davis was already employed in the district.  Furthermore, since Rene Davis was already teaching in the Mount Vernon school system, Superintendent Johnson should have supplied Rene Davis’s classroom record to board members for evaluation. Judith Johnson created the Teacher Assistant position for Rene Davis at Columbus Elementary School. It was not a vacated position, so it was only created to give Rene Davis a paycheck. There were more qualified Teacher’s Assistants who were overlooked.

As a compromise, one such qualified individual was given a job at another elementary school. This type of egregious behavior is the reason why Mount Vernon Schools is a feeder program to Valhalla Prison. The behavior of Superintendent Johnson, for selling out our children is appalling. The behavior of Lenny Sarver, who is the liaison between Ernie Davis and school district, is appalling. The behavior of Francis Wynn, for voting on her Niece’s full time employment and then walking out of the meeting, because Rene was denied that employment, is also appalling.

It is now very clear, that Judith Johnson is not in control of the school system.  She has become a political puppet to the Ministers and City Hall. Judith Johnson, Lenny Sarver, and Francis Wynn should immediately resign. Mount Vernon Exposed is interested in finding how the two missing board members would have voted. Mount Vernon Exposed is also interested in finding out which board members will vote for applicants from the bogus Superintendent search committee? Board members only should perform a Superintendent search. Members of political and church affiliations should not be involved in finding a Superintendent for Mount Vernon.

Judith Johnson is on a fast track to get rid of Mount Vernon High School Principal Ronald Gonzalez. Sources told Mount Vernon Exposed, that several years ago when the Principal’s job at Mount Vernon High School was open, there was a white male applicant with tremendous credentials. Board member Carol Ben Reuben, huddled with Rev Richardson and Superintendent Sawyer, and they all agreed that they did not want a white principal at the high school, so Gonzalez was hired. After a shaky first year, Mr. Gonzalez has actually done a good job as principal. Student fights and suspensions are down, while attendance is up. Mr. Gonzales implemented the Plato system, a computerized assistant instruction system, and graduation rates are up.

So what is the obsession of Judith Johnson, in trying to get rid of Principal Gonzales? First of all, Johnson and Gonzales have crossed paths before. Sources told Mount Vernon Exposed, that Judith hired Gonzales when she was in Peekskill, and then reneged on the hire, forcing Gonzales back to The NYC school system.

Mr. Gonzales has cracked down on the high school teachers, and some of them are church backed. That is a dangerous line for Mr. Gonzales to cross. Just like our building maintenance workers, church backed teachers refuse to work, and anyone who crosses them, will be targeted. In other words, anyone who expects them to do their job will be dealt with.


 Sources have informed Mount Vernon Exposed that this past Monday, the day we celebrate Dr. Martin Luther King’s birthday, Grace Baptist Church honored Judith Johnson.  Dr. Martin Luther King would be horrified to know what is going on in Mt Vernon. The faces of the destruction of our children, are no longer white, and hidden under sheets. They are black, Superintendents of school districts, preach from the pulpit, and run City Hall.

Corruption is running rampant in the Mount Vernon City School District.  It is evident by the latest investigative report by Straight Talk in Mount Vernon concerning Mount Vernon Mayor Ernie Davis' daughter.

Mount Vernon Exposed has also learned the Renee Davis, daughter of Mount Vernon Mayor Ernie Davis, has been teaching as substitute teacher in A.B. Davis Middle School despite School Superitindent Judith Johnson knowing about her substance abuse issues.  Sources have also confirmed that required drug testing for Davis' was waived on orders from Judith Johnson.

Johnson recently formed an alliance with City Hall and sources say the hiring of Renee Davis was purely a political patronage favor.

MOUNT VERNON SCHOOL CHIEF ILLEGALLY CIRCUMVENTS HIRING PROCESS TO BRING IN MAYOR'S DAUGHTER

If anyone had any doubt that Judith Johnson, Francis Wynn and Lenny Sarver are trying to destroy the lives of the children of Mount Vernon, they can now be rest assured knowing  that they are.

While President Gerald Whiteside was absent, acting board President Lenny Sarver, and Superintendent Judith Johnson, tried to hire Rene Davis as a teacher assistant. Rene Davis is the daughter of Mayor Ernie Davis. It is no secret in Mount Vernon that Rene has had a substance abuse problem for a very long time.  

School board members are supposed to receive information on items they will vote on prior to their meeting. There are even work sessions to discuss the issues to be voted on. Employee hiring’s should be backed up with proper documentation of the applicant, such as resumes.  At the request of Ernie Davis, Judith Johnson and Lenny Sarver bypassed proper protocol, and added Rene Davis’s voting tab to the agenda Wednesday night. It was submitted without any supporting documentation. Lenny Sarver has long been described as being in Ernie Davis’s back pocket.

Mount Vernon Exposed has learned that there were several highly qualified people who applied for this position, but the children’s interest was ignored. Francis Wynn who is the Aunt of Rene Davis, and who should have recused herself from the vote, voted yes, and then walked out of the board meeting when Rene’s employment was voted down by diligent Trustees. Francis Wynn is an embarrassment to Mount Vernon, and will go into the Hall of Shame, which is full of people who have a long history of destroying Mount Vernon. The other Trustees beside Francis Wynn who voted yes to Rene Davis’s employment, were Lenny Sarver, Elias Goodzeit, and Brenda Crump.

Judith Johnson is a horrendous Superintendent. Any Superintendent who makes a decision to insert Rene Davis in the classroom, while putting children’s lives in jeopardy, will go down as being one of the worst Superintendents in American history.

Speaking of The Hall of Shame in the Mount Vernon school district, you can add the following as destroyers of the lives of Mount Vernon children.  Rev Franklin Richardson, Rev Daren Moore, Francis Wynn, Ernie Davis, Carol BenReuben, Lynn McBride, Dr. Wilton Sawyer, The Mount Vernon Democratic Committee, Jeff Yonkers, Timothy Costello, Lenny Sarver and Judith Johnson. All of these Hall of Shame members have blood on their hands for destroying an entire generation of children. A job well done.

Judith Johnson is throwing away taxpayer monies again. Some individuals continue to get rich, by ordering hundreds of thousands of dollars of books that our children cannot use. These boxes of books line the halls and basements of schools throughout the district.  Did Judith Johnson receive a kickback from the vendor that sold the Mount Vernon School District these books?

Where is the promised audit? Judith Johnson, Lenny Sarver, Francis Wynn, Elias Gootzeit, and Timothy Costello, have pushed the promised audit into the background, hoping that it never gets done. They are trying to stay out of jail.

The Superintendent search is a scam. The search committee is full of the same Church officials who have destroyed our school district. One of the search committee members, is Grace Baptist member Henry May. Sources have informed Mount Vernon exposed that Henry May no longer lives in Mount Vernon. I guess the saying is true; Dogs don’t crap where they sleep. Any Superintendent selected from this search committee will be someone the churches and our City Hall Politicians want in office to continue to make them rich.

As we speak, the UBC, and The Mount Vernon Democratic party are preparing to hijack the next school board election. We will be reaching out to residents in Mount Vernon to explain what is really going on in their city.  We will be collecting signatures to send to the IRS, demanding that they revoke the 501 c 3 tax-exempt status of churches that participate in illegal political campaigning. We will also ask concerned members and visitors of these churches to record any discussions, and endorsements of candidates.  We will also expose the Mount Vernon Democratic Committee. Make no mistake, crimes have been committed and people will go to jail.
